Know The Origin is committed to creating beautiful pieces that positively impact the planet and the lives of people making them. And you know what? They excel at it! From the way they source their materials to how their clothing is made, KTO is as close to flawless ethics as it gets.
A brand free of weird itchy tree jumpers, £££ price tags, sweatshops, human trafficking, environmental destruction and super secretive supply chains. Know The Origin sells their own clothes as well as underwear from super ethical brand Hara the Label.
Created in 2016 by Charlotte who was studying at London College of Fashion at the time Rana Plaza factory collapsed in Bangladesh. She then spent a while visiting supply chains around Bangladesh and India, meeting survivors, ethical producers and charities.
Their clothing is made of organic cotton or some even more eco-friendly materials such as Tencel, bamboo, modal and fabric made from waste.
We love that Know The Origin is super transparent about their supply chain: for each garment, you know exactly in which factory it was made, and what’s the name of the person who made it.
Know The Origin regularly supports causes that inspire them by running giving weeks, where they donate % of their sales to a charity. Fashion isn’t only about clothes, it’s also about the people. And Know The Origin got that perfectly right. Isn’t it how fashion should always be? Read their Standard to learn more about their many other ethical commitments.
